A day in the life of a camper will be filled with opportunities to learn, grow, explore but (most importantly) have fun! We will provide many sensory friendly daily activities including art and music exploration, chances for children to explore getting their hands dirty with a variety of materials, opportunities for children to move their bodies, outdoor experiences, swimming, and much more. In our daily schedule below you will see that it is separated into stations. We will have a music station, an art station, and an outdoors or active station. Each activity or station will also be structured around increasing communication and social/emotional opportunities for our campers. Within our calendar you will see that we will bring community members to our camp for additional learning experiences as well as be going out into the community for some unique local activities. Each week of camp will introduce new themes that will spark the curiosity and excitement of campers.
Once our registration is open to the public, we will be getting to know our campers in depth to ensure "The Sunshine Project" is a safe environment for all. We will be asking parents to provide most recent IEPs to become familiar with each of our camper’s needs as well as questionnaires to get to know the parents and families of your little ones. Our online registration link will be live February 1st, 2023. Click the link below for more information!
Would you like to join our project? What's a product or service you'd like to show?
In order to provide the best experience for our campers, we are looking for dedicated individuals to join us. We are in need of teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, nurses, and lifeguards. Along with these staff members, we are looking for individuals with special interests including art, music, and physical activity that can help us plan and implement special programs at our camp.
Do you have any other special talents? Please reach out to us to see if we can add your ideas into our camp schedule!
